  • WHO IS THE EAST LAKE WEIR ASSOCIATION?
The Association is a member owned, not-for-profit Florida Corporation operating under the laws of the State of Florida. The members elect a Board of Directors who manage the affairs of the Corporation and have been doing so since 1983. The Association collects dues from its members, acquires liability insurance, makes repairs and improvements, and otherwise maintains the beach and its amenities for the non-commercial, recreational use of its members.
  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE ASSOCIATION?
If you own or rent residential property within the Association's boundaries, you may be eligible for membership in the Association.
  • MUST YOU BE A HOMEOWNER TO JOIN?
No, Tenants are also eligible for membership provided they expect to remain a Tenant for 6 months or longer.
  • WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP BOUNDARIES OF THE ASSOCIATION?
If you live within the boundaries of the Association you may qualify for membership. To see a map of the Association boundaries click the "Association Boundaries" button near the bottom of this page.
  • I ALREADY HAVE LAKE ACCESS, WHY SHOULD I JOIN?"
Many of our members live directly on the lake and have their own lake access; nevertheless, they choose to join the Association for the social aspect. Lakefront members enjoy the gatherings we have at the beach - which include neighborhood picnics, breakfasts, the fireworks display and the annual boat parade. Members who already live on the lake join for the camaraderie and fellowship, and they've discovered it's a great place to make new friends.
  • ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON WHEN I CAN USE THE FACILITY?
The beach is open 7 days a week from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Occasionally a member may have reserved the pavilion for a private party, but the remainder of the beach is always open to other members.
  • ARE WE ALLOWED TO HAVE A BARBECUE?
Of course you may ... the Association even provides the gas grill. Just bring your own propane tank.
  • DO YOU HAVE A BOAT RAMP OR DOCK?
No, we don't have a ramp or a dock. Members who have boats will often use one of the two public boat ramps on the lake to launch their boats and then anchor them near our shoreline and wade ashore. This is a good, short-term solution - for a weekend or so. Of course, if you only have a canoe or kayak, they can easily be carried from our parking area to the beach.
  • HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE ASSOCIATION?
Association dues can change from time-to-time, but they are currently $100 annually. If you own or rent a home that already has lake access, the dues are only $50. These fees cover your entire household, and there is currently no application fee.
  • CAN I GET A TOUR OF THE FACILITY BEFORE I COMMIT?
Absolutely! Click on the "Contact us to Learn More" button (below) and fill in the form; a member will contact you to make an appointment.
